The one that does four things.
Most podis do one job. Peanut podi does four. Over hot rice with ghee or oil — that’s the classic. Stirred with a little water into an instant chutney for idli and dosa — two minutes, no grinding, no tempering required. Sprinkled over podi dosa or podi idli as a dry side. Or stirred into a sabzi or curry to thicken the base and add body.
The base is roasted peanuts with coconut and garlic — the combination that makes South Indian peanut chutney what it is. Jeera, tamarind, red chillies, and curry leaves round it out. High in protein, naturally high in fat from the peanuts and coconut — this is a genuinely filling podi, not just a condiment.
Hand-roasted in 5–7 kg small batches in T.Nagar, Chennai, and shipped within 10 days of roasting.
Shelf life: 3 months from manufacturing date.
Storage Instructions: Store in an airtight container. Use only a dry spoon. Refrigerate for maximum freshness.

Method 1 — With hot rice:
Method 2 — As instant chutney (for idli and dosa):
Two minutes. No grinding. No mixer. Real peanut chutney.
Method 3 — As podi dosa, podi idli, or roti side:
Sprinkle Peanut Podi directly over dosa batter before folding, or serve as a dry side alongside idli, roti, or jowar roti.
Method 4 — To thicken gravies and curries:
Stir one or two tablespoons of Peanut Podi into any sabzi, gravy, or curry while cooking to add body, thickness, and a subtle peanut depth.
1. Can I make chutney with this?
Yes — and this is what most people don’t expect. Take 2–3 tablespoons (50g) of Peanut Podi, add 60ml of warm water, mix well. Instant peanut chutney — no grinding, no mixer, no tempering required unless you want it. Temper with mustard seeds and curry leaves in a little oil if you want to add more depth. Water can be adjusted for thicker or thinner consistency.
2. How does it taste compared to fresh peanut chutney?
Very close — the base is the same: roasted peanuts, coconut, garlic, tamarind. The difference is texture. Fresh chutney is smoother and wetter. This reconstitutes to a slightly coarser consistency, which many people actually prefer for idli. The flavour profile is the same.
3. The fat content looks high — is that okay?
Yes — the fat comes entirely from roasted peanuts and coconut, both of which are naturally high in unsaturated fat. This is the same fat present in any fresh peanut chutney made at home. There are no added fats beyond what’s in the ingredients. The protein content (20.8g per 100g) is also notably high, making this one of the more filling podis in the range.
4. What’s in it — and what’s NOT?
Peanut, Jeera, Garlic, Roasted Gram, Coconut, Red Chillies, Curry Leaves, Tamarind & Salt. No preservatives, no anti-caking agents, no MSG, no palm oil, no artificial colours, no flavour enhancers. Nothing we wouldn’t put in our own food.
5. How spicy is it?
Medium. The red chillies give it a noticeable but manageable warmth. The peanut and coconut soften the heat considerably — the overall profile is more savoury and nutty than spicy.
6. What’s the best way to eat it with rice?
Hot rice, a spoonful of Peanut Podi, a few drops of ghee or sesame oil. Mix well and eat. The peanut and coconut give it a richness that makes it a genuinely filling meal even in small quantities.
7. Can I use it in cooking?
Yes — stir one or two tablespoons into any sabzi, gravy, or curry while cooking. It adds body to thin gravies and a subtle roasted peanut depth to the base. Works particularly well in dry sabzis and coconut-based curries.
8. What’s the shelf life?
[CONFIRM — update once shelf life is confirmed from label.]
9. How do I store it after opening?
Transfer to an airtight glass or steel container. Use only a dry spoon. Refrigerate for maximum freshness.
10. Is this vegetarian?
Yes. 100% vegetarian.
11. How long does delivery take?
Prepaid orders typically arrive within 48 hours in metros, 3–4 days for tier-2 cities. COD orders take 4–7 business days. We ship within 24 hours of order placement, six days a week.
